Dynasty RB Rankings

Dynasty RB rankings ordered by the Smash Average, with tiers and ages next to every name. Running back is the position where the age curve matters most, so the table shows age alongside rank on purpose.

The pattern that repeats every year: the market pays for last season's touches, then the 26-and-older backs slide as soon as the rookies get drafted. Buy the young starters after a slow month, sell the veterans after a big one.

Frequently asked questions

When do dynasty running backs lose value?+

Most backs peak in dynasty value between 22 and 25 and decline from 26 on, with a sharp drop at 27–28 regardless of production. The ranking already prices that in; the age column shows you why two backs with similar seasons sit in different tiers.

Should I take a rookie running back over a veteran RB1?+

In a rebuild, usually yes — the rookie's value has three or four years of runway. In a contending window the veteran's points now are worth more than the rookie's value later. The season simulator tells you which window you are in.

How often are these rankings updated?+

Every ranker publishes on their own schedule during the season, usually weekly, and the Smash Average recomputes the moment a board is saved. The date under the table is the newest publish across the boards it blends.

Are these the same numbers the trade calculator uses?+

They come from the same value engine. The rankings show the blended order and tiers; the trade calculator prices players and picks against your league's format, scoring and roster size, then applies consolidation logic to multi-player deals.
